Job Description

The Role:
As a Business Analyst – Network Security you will identify, prioritise, and aggregate technical, functional and security requirements. Understand a problem, drive a target outcome, outline options, quantify value/opportunity.

• Have exposure to aspects of networking, operating systems, software packages and security tooling.
• Agile methodology, write user stories, attend scrum calls, provide governance in pipeline/ prioritise calls through backlog and progress, address feasibility limitations, gaps, and deterrents to progress.
• Elicit business requirements from users and SMEs (technical and non-technical resources) to write business requirements documents and how-to procedure guides for Network and Security teams.

Key experience/ knowledge:

• Experience or desire to review technical designs and solutions to identify network security risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Working knowledge Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) technologies, IDS/IPS, network- and host- based firewalls, proxy filtering, firewall will be added advantage.
• Understanding of possible attack activities (e.g., network probing/ scanning, Denial-of-service attack (DDOS), malicious code activity, etc.), would be advantageous.
• General knowledge of Network Security appliances (IDS, Firewall, VPN management, configuration and tuning, Intrusion Prevention) and Network and Application Protocols (IP, TCP, UDP, FTP, HTTP, DNS, routing, etc.), would be added advantage.
