C++ Developer

Job Description

We are looking for a software engineer with a track record of ownership and bias for action. You will be responsible for building products, supporting experiences and services, analytical models as well as delivering them in a fast, agile, yet reliable and supportable manner with low technical debt. You should be passionate about building things and be able to embody our product, engineering, and business tenets.

● Understand current code base and pipeline.

● Implement new features and services.

● Debug and fix bugs.

● Performance and quality optimization of the current algorithms.

● Do code reviews. Make sure the coding guidelines and quality are maintained.

● Suggest new frameworks, libraries and algorithms to help the organization.

Required Skill Set

● Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math or related

field from a top tier school/ institution

● Understanding of memory management, multiple processor use, run-time

optimization, concurrency and synchronisation

● Solid computer science background including Algorithm, Data Structure,

Operation System etc.

● Ability to quickly learn complex systems and new technologies.

Desired profile of the candidate

● Solid coding practices including good design documentation, unit testing, peer

code reviews, and a preference for agile processes and working methodology in

CPP (C++)

● Sharp analytical abilities, proven design skills, excellent written and oral

communication skills

● Strong sense of ownership, the bias for action, urgency, and drive

● Knowledge of using NoSQL databases (eg. MongoDB, Hbase)

● Knowledge of Apache Elasticsearch or Solr is a plus

● Knowledge of RegEx and JSON syntax understanding is a plus

● Knowledge in search and information retrieval, extraction platforms (eg. Apache

Nutch and Tika

● Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic start-up teams
