Cloud Security Specialist

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Security Specialist to develop, implement, and maintain robust security measures across our cloud environments. This role will involve securing cloud infrastructure, monitoring for vulnerabilities, and enforcing compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud platforms, security best practices, and experience working with tools and techniques for protecting data and applications in the cloud.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement security policies and controls to protect cloud-based applications, infrastructure, and data.
• Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests on cloud environments to identify and mitigate security threats.
• Manage identity and access management (IAM) systems to enforce secure user permissions and access policies.
• Collaborate with cloud engineering teams to integrate security tools and ensure security best practices are embedded in infrastructure and applications.
• Monitor cloud environments for security incidents and respond to potential breaches, implementing incident response protocols.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices to proactively secure systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
• Create and maintain documentation for cloud security policies, procedures, and incident response plans.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in cloud security or related roles, with expertise in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
• Experience with cloud security tools and services (e.g., AWS Security Hub, Azure Security Center, Google Cloud Security Command Center).
• Proficiency in network security, IAM, encryption, and data protection techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on threat detection and mitigation.
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications, such as Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), AWS Certified Security – Specialty, or CompTIA Security+.
• Experience with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipeline security.
• Familiarity with scripting or automation for security tasks (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
