Designer Production Manager

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Designer Production Manager to oversee the end-to-end design production process. This role combines creative design expertise with strong project management skills, responsible for coordinating design workflows, managing timelines, and ensuring high-quality production standards. The ideal candidate will lead a team of designers and work closely with other departments to bring creative concepts to life within budget and schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Oversight: Lead and manage design production from concept through to final output, ensuring brand consistency and high-quality standards.
• Project Management: Develop production schedules, assign resources, and manage timelines for multiple concurrent design projects.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with designers, copywriters, and stakeholders to ensure designs meet creative briefs, align with brand guidelines, and achieve project objectives.
• Quality Control: Review and approve design assets, providing constructive feedback and ensuring visual standards are maintained throughout production.
• Vendor & Resource Management: Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers for materials, printing, and other production requirements, negotiating budgets and timelines.
• Process Improvement: Implement and refine production processes to improve workflow efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and ensure accuracy.
• Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, manage costs, and allocate resources effectively to maximize output within budget constraints.
• Trend Research: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new design tools, and production techniques to maintain innovative and competitive design practices.

Requirements:

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in design production, graphic design, or a related field, with at least 1 year in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Strong understanding of print and digital production processes, materials, and techniques.
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello, or Monday.com) and scheduling software.
  • Familiarity with budget management and vendor negotiation.
  • Knowledge of layout design, color theory, typography, and branding principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Production Management, Fine Arts, or a related field.
• Experience working with both print and digital design projects.
• Knowledge of sustainable design practices is a plus.
• Portfolio of previous design projects demonstrating quality and production management capabilities.
