We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to work on various projects, based in the Dublin Office. We are a specialist engineering contractor, who have been designing and building innovative and sustainable energy systems for clients across the UK and Ireland for over 12 years. We are a wholly owned subsidiary of the Dornan Engineering Group (itself a wholly owned subsidiary of Turner Construction). Dornan are a leading Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation contractor with over €800m annual turnover and with projects in Ireland, Mainland Europe, the Nordics and the UK. Roles and responsibilities:
• Feasibility, concept design, detailed design and project delivery work across a range of scales and
types of heat network projects around the UK and Ireland, with a primary focus on the London area.
• Act as lead engineer as part of the project development team, conducting front-end engineering
(FEED) work to assist in securing new projects.
• Engagement with supply chain during both initial procurement and delivery phases to ensure optimal
product selection and delivery.
• Provide project engineering support to a number of live projects, working directly under the Project
Manager.
• Site visits (from single day to several weeks, as needed) to project sites both in London and elsewhere
around Ireland and the UK, to resolve issues during construction engineering, commissioning or
operation phases.
• Review, analysis and reporting on project performance.
Experience/Qualifications Required:
• Level 8 / Honours bachelor’s degree in engineering
• Min 7 years’ experience in an engineering role, preferably within the energy sector
• Flexible and enthusiastic approach, with a willingness to take on novel challenges
• Good understanding of heat network systems, and in particular LTHW systems and heat pumps.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite, in particular MS Excel and MS Word
• Some experience preferable in use of computer drawing software, e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, Solidworks
• Desire to experience full project engineering lifecycle, from early concept design through to
construction, commissioning and operation
• Willingness to engage and collaborate with a wide range of multi-disciplinary counterparties
• Interest in periodic travel to the UK for project delivery work
