We’re looking for a Software Engineer who takes pride in crafting resilient, secure systems—the kind of systems that millions of Americans rely on daily to save, invest, and build their futures. If you’re a U.S. citizen with a solid financial standing and a passion for clean, maintainable code, this is a rare opportunity to do meaningful work that directly rewards your responsible, high-trust profile.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
Design, develop, and maintain secure backend services and APIs that process sensitive financial data at scale, ensuring zero tolerance for error and downtime.
Collaborate with compliance, security, and product teams to translate federal and industry regulatory requirements into robust technical solutions without sacrificing developer experience.
Build and refine event-driven pipelines and transactional workflows that handle real-time payments, settlements, and account updates with absolute data integrity.
Conduct peer code reviews with a focus on security, performance, and maintainability, mentoring junior engineers in disciplined development practices.
Document architectural decisions, system designs, and runbooks in a way that treats clarity as a core engineering deliverable.
Continuously evaluate and adopt emerging tools and patterns that strengthen our security posture and reduce toil, because standing still is how you get breached.
**Qualifications Required**
U.S. Citizenship this position requires access to systems governed by federal financial regulations that do not permit permanent residents or visa holders).
A good to excellent personal credit history, verified through a pre-employment credit check. We look for a credit report free of recent bankruptcies, foreclosures, serious delinquencies, or patterns of default. This requirement stems from direct regulatory and risk-management mandates associated with the data and funds you will handle.
3+ years of professional software engineering experience with at least one modern backend language.
Proven experience building and deploying cloud-based applications, with a solid grasp of security fundamentals (e.g., OWASP Top 10, least-privilege IAM policies, data encryption at rest and in transit).
A mindset of ownership you finish what you start, communicate proactively, and hold yourself to a standard higher than any manager could impose.
