Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate South Indian Chef who specializes in preparing dosas, thalis, and other traditional dishes. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of South Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques, and will play a key role in maintaining the authenticity and consistency of our menu.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare a wide variety of authentic South Indian dishes, including:
• Dosas (plain, masala, ghee, onion, etc.)
• Idlis, Vadas, Upma, Pongal
• Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian Thalis
• South Indian-style curries, sambar, rasam, chutneys
• Rice dishes such as lemon rice, tamarind rice, curd rice, and biryanis
• Plan and organize kitchen operations to ensure timely food preparation
• Maintain hygiene and food safety standards as per HACCP guidelines
• Monitor inventory and assist in procurement of ingredients
• Innovate new dishes while preserving traditional cooking practices
• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff when required
• Coordinate with restaurant management for menu planning and event catering

Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a South Indian Chef (CDP or Sous Chef)
• In-depth knowledge of South Indian cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques
• Ability to work in a high-volume kitchen and manage multiple orders
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Food safety certification (preferred)
• Ability to speak English; knowledge of South Indian languages is a plus

Desirable Qualifications:

• Culinary diploma or relevant training in Indian cuisine
• Experience in an international setting or specialty Indian restaurant
